Lean manufacturing methodology for citrus fruit excellence
Perfect quality with no defects. This is one of the principles on which lean manufacturing is based, a work organisation system that seeks maximum efficiency in production processes with a clear objective: to offer the best possible product to the customer. This approach has always been part of GAMBÍN's DNA since its beginnings more than 60 years ago and has been constantly evolving ever since, incorporating the technical and human developments that make it possible.
True to these values, the different departments that make up the company are fully focused on meticulously controlling all the details that influence the final result, which is no other than supplying the citrus markets with quality citrus fruit on a continuous basis.
Although these methodologies have also been incorporated in areas such as the field, finance and marketing, it is in the processing and packaging plant where they are more evident. The place where, due to the nature of the company, many of the activities and processes that have to be meticulously controlled come together: from those strictly related to raw materials, such as the processing, weighing, calibration and quality to other related but equally important ones, such as the management of human resources, work safety, technology and IT systems or internal communication circuits.
Different panels controlled by the Operations Department allow real-time monitoring of the status of the different variables, aligning the entire organisation in pursuit of our common objectives and making the appropriate corrections, reinforcements or consolidations at all times.
This methodology places GAMBÍN on a par with the major manufacturing companies and operational processes on the international scene and has a direct influence on the success of its citrus fruits in the markets.
