Spring Citrus Fruits
Spring has just arrived in full force to stimulate all our senses. This is a time when the arrival of good weather and longer hours of sunshine invite us – with all the necessary precautions due to the pandemic situation that we are living through- to enjoy life in community and the great outdoors.
With the arrival of April, new spring citrus fruits varieties are coming onto the market, which are already available or will soon be available in the different formats and brands that GAMBÍN, as a citrus fruit producer and exporter, provides to its clients to be enjoyed by consumers.
- Oranges: the Navel Lane Late, available from late January/early February, will be available during March and April. It will share space with the Powell Summer Navel, which is in full bloom during these three months, and with the last stages of the Salustianas. The Barberina / Midknight and the Valencia Late will replace them, which are present both in spring and summer (especially the latter)
- Lemons: if there is a lemon that can be considered king of spring, this is the Verna Lemon. Although Primofiori will still be available until the beginning of April, it will be the Verna that will dominate most of the markets during March, April and May, including the month of June.
- Tangerines: due to their size, versatility and freshness, tangerines are increasing in importance during the spring season. The Nadorcott, which made its appearance at the end of February/March, is now joined by the Murcott, which will be at its best during the months of April and May.
- Pineapples: thanks to their particularities and origin, Costa Rica, they can be enjoyed all year round. This is the GAMBÍN Pineapple, which of course will also be available throughout the spring, a period in which it becomes a gastronomic favourite, serving as a garnish to refreshing dishes, invigorating drinks or eaten as a dessert or snack.
