Mouth-watering GAMBÍN Pineapple Smoothie Recipes
  • 11 May 2020

Summer is approaching, the cold is falling behind and the sunsets are getting longer. And that, in our shopping list, means only one thing: the GAMBÍN pineapple becomes indispensable. One of the most popular fruits for its sweet taste, its nutritional properties and, above all, the versatility it offers. Milkshakes, cocktails and even hot dishes can include pineapple among their ingredients, but for the summer, something refreshing is always more welcome. Here are some recipes with pineapple to enjoy its flavour and quell the arrival of high temperatures.

Fruit Smoothie

There is nothing like a nice fruit mix in the blender to freshen up. One of the most illustrious and classic pineapple recipes is the mix with red berries, which combines the colour nuances of each one and offers a perfect counterpoint of taste between sweet and sour, but with great smoothness. Mix a few pieces of pineapple in the blender together with a mixture of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, and with a water or milk base. It is perfect for any time of the day.

Pina Colada

When talking about pineapple options, one of the most famous cocktails in the world cannot be missed: the piña colada. It consists of mixing pineapple juice (preferably home-made with natural pineapple, making a huge difference) with white rum, coconut cream, a splash of condensed milk and crushed ice, all decorated with a slice of natural pineapple. This is a simple, delicious and smooth cocktail ideal for refreshing ourselves, either as an aperitif or for a night of fun.

Creamy Smoothie

The creamy smoothie is another tasty recipe with pineapple, a magnificent way to add some thickness to the pineapple, which is basically turned into water when crushed. To do this, we can mix a few pieces of pineapple in the blender with a couple of spoonfuls of yoghurt (better if it's Greek) and a banana, which will also provide texture. This is a simple, quick, creamy and nutritious snack, suitable for all family members.

Pineapple Mojito

Pineapple can also be included in another of the most illustrious cocktails of any summer night, the mojito. The recipe is as simple as including natural pineapple juice and some pieces of the fruit in the original mojito recipe. Our pineapple mojito includes white rum, soda, mint, lime, crushed ice and pineapple as the ideal topping. This is the perfect way to bring a surprising twist of flavour to a cocktail as versatile as the pineapple itself.

The Satiating Smoothie

There are also pineapple recipes that will help you to start the day with equal amounts of satiety and energy. A good way to do this is by combining in a single smoothie the sweetness and flavour of pineapple with oatmeal, a filling and nutritious ingredient which is ideal for breakfast. You can use milk or some vegetable drink as a base, and then add a few slices of pineapple and a few tablespoons of oatmeal. To conclude, blend everything together and serve. You will have the energy to face the day while its satiating capacity will help you not to feel hungry until a few hours later.

French Martini

Pineapple can also be part of more sophisticated and elegant cocktails such as the so-called French Martini. This cocktail is the result of mixing the delicious Chambord - French sweet raspberry liqueur - with natural pineapple juice and a dash of gin. It provides a perfect contrast between the sweetness of both fruits, a light touch of pleasant acidity and the sediment found in a good gin. Served in the classic triangular vermouth glass, it is the perfect accompaniment to a varied appetiser.

And remember... always with pineapple GAMBÍN!
